Twin City Signal, Inc. was born in January, 1996. The company began with five former Burlington Northern Railroad employees and has continued to grow through the years. Today, Twin City Signal is located in two facilities in Hudson Wisconsin, which features state-of-the-art computer, network, printing and data transfer capabilities.

Growth at Twin City Signal has also meant the expansion of our capabilities, products and services. Our engineers design CTC systems, interlockings and grade crossing warning systems, program vital processor applications, upgrade rail yards, perform preliminary engineering for commuter rail systems and provide field service and training. TCS is also a resource for turnkey project management, taking the project from material procurement through engineering design and field installation.

TCS expertise in the renovation of moveable railroad bridges includes complete signal system upgrades with radio links across open water channels, development of proximity switch surface alignment detection, and the automation of lift span bridges to allow for unmanned bridge movements.

The TCS test facility is equipped with a variety of solid-state microprocessor devices, including GETS VLC, US&S Microlok II, I-Lok, E-Lok, GETS EC4 and EC5. In addition to performing standard verification tests in hardware simulation, the facility provides the capability for testing large, multiple microprocessor simulations.

Through the use of a proprietary logic simulator, TCS software engineers are able to perform simultaneous integrated testing of 30 or more individual microprocessor locations on a laptop PC, depending on hardware limitations. This unprecedented capacity allows for near subdivision-wide testing. The simulator is also used as a software development tool which allows for more efficient creation of custom software applications. Custom applications can be fully simulated and verified before they are burned to an EPROM.

The TCS wire shop excels in the manufacture of top quality custom local control panels designed to site specific locations. Using only high grade materials, our panels are constructed for performance and ease of installation and are built to perform for years in even the most rugged environments.
